High Adventure: Turtle Ship Bridge

Greetings Viewers!

In this installment I take you across the Turtle Ship Bridge into Expo Town and Yi Sun Shin Plaza of downtown Yeosu. Along the way I stop to admire the Dolsan Cable Car, Hamel Lighthouse, and brunch.

Enjoy the walk!

See Our Show: Little Miss Bossy

Greetings Viewers!

I’ve mentioned, once or twice, that I joined a fledgling drama group here in Yeosu. Well we had our first show recently and it was a success. Hopefully we’ll have a few more performances of it.

But for now you can all enjoy our premier performance, thanks to footage taken by Jool’s husband.

All In My Mind

Greetings Viewers!

First I’ll take you on a little stroll through Dolsan-eup and then I’ll have a nice chat about my last hospital visit.

Something I forgot to mention in the video is that IBS is normally triggered by psychological stress. When the doctor prescribed me a month’s worth of pills I asked if it was safe to drink alcohol while taking the medicine. He said that it was okay, but that beer was actually an aggravator for IBS, so it should be avoided.

Well that is just not fair Viewers. Ah well. I’ve made do with tea and meditation colouring books.

So when my pain went away in November, it was because I’d quit alcohol, NOT sugar! Who knew?

You Okay Honey?

Greetings Viewers!

I am no stranger to Korean hospitals. But my previous visits have all been of the ‘I did something dumb and need it fixed’ variety. Going to the hospital for pain that I didn’t know the cause of was an entirely different experience. Luckily I had a great doctor and it turned out to be something very mundane and manageable.

But still.

Getting sick outside your home country sucks. It was a rollercoaster of uncertainty for a while there and I am grateful to the wonderful people who helped and supported me and I will never forget their kindness. I was really struggling and I would have drowned without them.

However I think the worst of it has passed and I am back to my energetic, optimistic self. Finding purpose in my new job, friends in my new city, and taking care of my mental and physical health have all contributed to my speedy recovery.

So if you feel like you’re drowning, take care of yourself and remember that you’re not alone.
