Happy Pride Month!
It is so important to create and promote characters that positively portray the diverse range of identities reflected in our classrooms today. All children and young adults need to see themselves and hear their voices represented in the books and comics that they read, the games they play, and the TV shows and movies that they watch.
If you’re interested, Wyvern: Book One: The Coin by Kyle McGiverin is available to purchase through Amazon and at the Glad Day Bookshop in Toronto. Thank you for your support and understanding.
In this month’s musical installment Kristy basks in the wonders of her local library. Can you imagine? All those books, in English, for FREE! ^__^
Poles Apart by Terry Fallis
The Best Laid Plans by Terry Fallis
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins
The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden by Jonas Jonasson
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
I would highly recommend all of those books. Find them at your library today!
Come and sail away with me on the Disney Magic, part of the Disney Cruise Line. ^__^ Wheee. So glad I have this video completed because my new job has been putting me through the ringer this month.
Also, please appreciate that I had an hour and 16 minutes worth of footage for this video. Getting it down to 8 minutes was an EXTREMELY difficult task.
It’s time to get that winter weight off but Kristy is struggling. Find out why in this month’s musical installment.
Seriously, I can’t be the only one who struggles with this…right?
After that tiny bit of a break last month I’m back with more book learning for you! Huzzah, you say! Huzzah!
Well…perhaps not. At any rate I *did* read Every Man Dies Alone by Hans Fallada during my cruise and I was deeply moved by the experience. I couldn’t resist sharing my newfound knowledge with you all and felt that, as April 8th was the Anniversary of the Hampels’ executions, this month’s video would be the best time to do so.
As many people are celebrating Easter this weekend I urge you-Christian or not-to be kind to your fellow humans, now and always.
After a rather short video, we’re back with another installment of the musical. Well…she kept putting it off because of her travels, but with nothing new on the horizon Kristy must finally face the inevitable: getting a new job.
Behold: footage of me from Australia! Yes, that’s my nephew (and sister) in the background, and yes, I know he’s adorable. Totally makes the video. Big thanks again to my brother-in-law for the use of the hoverboard and for being my cameraman. ^__^
A lot has been going on recently so I decided to forego making a lengthy and well-thought-out piece this month. Rest assured that the monthly music video is still in the works (I’ve completed filming 98% of it so far) and I am working on lengthier, more thoughtful pieces for the upcoming months.
Until then, enjoy your March!
